How-to Delete Complete Outlook Profile by Deleting Profile Registry

You may see several errors due to outlook profile; sometimes their files corrupt and you need to repair outlook ost pst files and sometimes you need to convert ost to pst to resolve problem. In order to resolve the issues sometime also you will have to delete your profile and then re-create a new outlook profile at that time outlook doesn’t allow you to create a new profile and shows an error like;

How-to Manually Delete Outlook Profile from Control Panel

Click on Start then open your Control Panel then click on User Accounts >> click on Mail.

Click on Show Profiles

Now select the Profile which you want to remove and then click on Remove.

Now you will see the popup; here you have to click on option Yes for confirmation.

NOTE: Sometimes this method didn’t work and then you need to remove it using Registry Editor.

Steps to Delete Outlook Profile Using Registry Key

Most important before proceeding backup of your registry in case something happens you can restore from there.

To open Registry Editor, click on Start >> search box >> type Run and hit the Enter key.

In the Run command box, type regedit and click on OK.

Now click on OK, you’ll see the Registry Editor screen.

Now follow the path for outlook 2016, 2013 and 2010 as stated below:

For Outlook 2016: “HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Microsoft/Office/16.0/Outlook/Profiles/profile-name”.

For Outlook 2013: “HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Microsoft/Office/15.0/Outlook/Profiles/Outlook”.

For Outlook 2010: “HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Microsoft/Windows NT/CurrentVersion/Win Messaging Subsystem/Profiles.”

After following the path you have to select the Profile that you want to delete and then right click the selected Profile and choose the option Export.

In order to restore Outlook profile choose folder and save the registry key.

After backup of Outlook Profile.

Right click on variable of Outlook Profile and Delete. Give a confirmation for deleting the registry branch and its keys.

Once you completed the deletion of Outlook Profile, you can create a new Outlook Profile.
